The tech mammoth Google has launched its shopping services in India on Thursday, December 13. It allows users to go through amazing offers, prices variations, and retailers which leads to finding the product easily to the users.
As Surojit Chatterjee, vice president of product management at Google Shopping said, this platform will not ask to pay any fees to list their products on google shopping. Chatterjee continued through the Google blog post,
“India has the second largest population of internet users in the world, and it’s only getting bigger. While 400 million Indians are online today, less than one out of three buy things online.”
Using the shopping service, Google is targeting to support entire retailer ecosystem by giving them direct access to technology and tools. For retailers, companies will offer ‘Merchant center’ in Hindi as well as the English language. It makes easy to sellers to list their items in google shopping.
With the classic theme of Google, the Shopping Homepage gives access to category wise picks. Under the google search bar where images, videos or news tab located, a new tab named “shopping” will travels you to the shopping page. Product images will be featured along with information on Shopping page.
Google is also creating the same experience for mobile users by using progressive web applications (PWAs). They are web applications load like regular websites. Also, offer the user functionality such as working offline, push notifications.
Google Lenses are here to help you find the same product such as furniture, clothes, home-decor which you will catch through the phone cameras.
Revenue is going to collect from shopping through merchants advertising costs.
