processing — processing.js — p5.js
The language is also known as ‘Processing’ born around the year 2000. Ben Fry and Casey Reas are the names of the developer who developed and designed a highly visual language. Processing is a java based language and follows most of the java’s syntactical rules.
As per written in the Processing website,
“Processing is a flexible software sketchbook and a language for learning how to code within the context of the visual art.”
It is an open source language which also, comes with an IDE package. Currently, the 3rd version of the Processing is going on in the market. The Processing programs are called sketches which have an extension as .pde. If we write a sketch and include it in a web page then, Processing.js will take care of rest to make it visually rich.
Suppose, we have to create a graphic on the web page using pure JS, we have to write more than a hundred lines of code but using p5.js it gets done with very few lines.
Here are some interesting examples we can check on the site.
